This darling in-the-hoop project is not only pretty but also quite functional. It is a project for the 5×7 hoops and only requires one hooping. The strap can be constructed before start of the embroidery and added during the embroidery process. It’s also quite possible and attractive to use ribbon to add as a strap. All seams are either hidden or finished. It does not come with a name or alphabet. While digitized with a child in mind, it is equally usable by adults. You are receiving two versions: one with the butterfly, the other a plain bag into which you can insert any design of your choosing. (The purse easily holds a passport and credit cards , some cash and other small “essentials”.) Great for a child on a bike ride or day trip with the daycare. Adjust the handle length to your liking to become a shoulder bag or to be worn across the chest. Add a pretty zipper pull to complete the look. Instructions, color stichout and tutorial included.

Design Dimensions: 4.99×7.03”
Stitch Count:
10,970 (with butterfly)
5,984 (without butterfly)

The fabric “frame” around each design is reverse appliqued, part of the design inside of the “frame” is appliqued as well. You will end up with a finished, usable 6” square quilting block. You can easily adapt the block to be even as large as 8” by leaving the fabric frame around the design larger. Use the applique blocks for coordinating projects. Leave off the reverse applique frame and just stitch the ricrac frame with the blocks onto a pillow or other coordinating project.

For a different look, leave off the embroidered buttons, and handsew 3 D buttons to the 4 corners of the quilting block. It’s easy – just skip the last three colors on each block sewout.

For 5×7 hoops and larger.
