Here is a small design I made for my granddaughter’s jeans that needed patching up. It’s really her design. She wanted a heart flower, heart leaves, and a butterfly. This in-the-hoop project is for the Backpack Bibles for Kidz with the following dimensions: 6.75 X 4.50 (inches). Be sure to check your bible’s dimensions before purchasing this design.

The bible cover is done in 3 hoopings in 5×7 hoops: You will construct the front first, then the back with pocket, and then in the last hooping you will combine the two parts by stitching a cover spine. It is not hard to do. Just follow the instructions listed in the enclosed pdf document carefully.

The bible cover consists of a crazy patch style cover, with a butterfly and a small flower design, as well as two border designs. The cover has a back pocket for a small notepad and pen or highlighter, as well as an elastic strap that holds the bible shut when not in use. Lots of photos included.

Instead of the usual satin applique edge, this daisy has a very thick penstitch running along the edge, that makes it look as though there was a thin satin ribbon placed along the edge. To prevent fraying, the applique fabric is “bonded” with light interfacing. Combine with ricrac or ribbon to create a stem or leaves. For the 5×7 hoops. A great design to use up your stash of fabric scraps. Also lovely in the center of a pillow for a little girl’s bedroom.
