Here is a mug rug with a rustic, masculine look. A quick in the hoop project that can also be used as a birthday card. The background is stipple quilted and the side borders are attached in the stitch and flip method during the embroidery process. The opening for turning is at the bottom of the mug rug. It gets fused shut or handsewn.
