First sewing project

Look at that happy little girl. Saarah begged and begged to do her first sewing project with me. She is only 5 and I wasn’t sure she was old enough. But she insisted and she certainly surprised me. She is a natural at it. She designed the little pillow (the blue section is for the sky), she wanted a butterfly flying into the sky, and a flower in the opposite corner. She needed to be told only one time what was needle down position, tie off, etc. I am sooo proud of her. Didn’t she do great? She is just running around the house, hugging her pillow, and saying that she will take it to school and take her nap on it. A worthwhile project, don’t you think?

Here is one proud Grandma. 🙂 How much my Mom would have enjoyed watching this. She was an incredible seamstress who designed her own clothes and could sew anything her girls saw in the store. We would just tell her what we wanted and she did it. It’s nice to see the talent continue in her greatgrandchildren.
