This set of 4 octagonal shaped coasters is very versatile. While these coasters make a perfect gift for Valentine’s, they could also used for other occasions and events, based on your choice of fabrics. This set also allows the use of small pieces of fabric. Three of the coasters are pieced in the hoop; the 4th one shows a plain applique heart with fussy cut fabric. The main front fabric is quilted and the center heart is pieced in the hoop and reverse appliqued . It is easy to do. We show you how in our detailed instructions. No additional hand or sewing machine stitching required.

Supplies Needed:

• Fusible fleece (preferably heavy weight like Pellon Thermolam Plus)
• 1 quality cotton fabric for the main part of the coasters
• Small scraps of fabric for the applique hearts
• Craft foam (optional but highly recommended)
• Steam a Seam 2 or similar bonding product
• Painter’s, medical paper or masking tape
• Sharp, small, curved tip scissors
• Mini Iron
• Stabilizer: Polymesh (woven, cutaway)
